Complete Commitment

"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord." (Eph 5:22)

The commitment of a wife to her husband is complete and all-encompassing. She promises to be faithful to him alone forever. This means that she forsakes all others not only physically, but she also promises to keep all her thoughts on her husband, to set her heart on his well-being, and turn to him with all her questions, joys, concerns, hopes and fears, in short, that she shares her whole being with him. Thus, she becomes his partner and friend as well as his lover and sister in Christ. (Son 4:9-10)
