Accountability Partners

We've recently stumbled across a concept that had been heretofore unknown to us here at Joshuah's House...the concept of what is being called an "accountability partner."

The first mention of this we heard from a young married lady and SAHM who was seeking someone to be accountable to for housework and such, because she was struggling with issues of depression and a lack of direction.. The response to the young woman's request was answered by other women, who were, interestingly enough, struggling with the same issues, issues that appear to us to indeed be the result of a lack of accountability. These women recognize the root of the problem (and we do agree that a lack of accountability is at the root of the problem) and properly seek help in the matter. However, the question at this point becomes, are they turning to the right people for help. We think not.

As always, we turn to scripture for guidance over every aspect of life, and this an issue that is most certainly addressed, and although we can imagine that most people today, especially so called "christians", would not be responsive to the ideas presented in the pages of the Holy Bible, we will explore this topic from a biblical perspective.

Since this is a new concept to us, we will continue to learn and share about AP's, as we go along, but at the onset it simply seems to us that there already exists an AP in this young lady's life, one whose God ordained role includes holding his wife accountable. Her husband. Unfortunately, it seems as though this young man is trapped in the same sin that Adam in he garden committed...that of indifference and the shirking of his husbandly duties.

So please join us in the near future as we learn and share about accountability partners, from a uniquely biblical perspective.
