Yahoo! Groups

My wife Talitha has been active in a few Yahoo! groups over the past few days, with some rather interesting outcomes. I think she does a remarkable job of standing her ground, with nothing to hold firm to but scripture, as it should be. Many assumptions were made about her, as well as myself, which is not all that unusual, considering the topic. A thick skin is necessary when dealing with issues such as plural marriage, and she nor I have been mortally wounded by any of the comments made.

At this point, I feel inclined to sing Talitha's praises a little bit here though, because I know she never will, and I am very proud of her. She has far more education that I (graduate degree) and could most probably kick my butt anytime she chooses, since she is the one in the family with a black belt, and yet she is the most peaceful, loving, compassionate woman imaginable, an excellent example of a godly wife, my friend, and I love her very much. She also makes excellent semolina bread, and bully's the cat when I'm away. ;-)

Ok, so the discussions ended on the group, the name of which I won't mention, but we have received words of encouragement and agreement from many people since the discussion was closed, and many messages from people who still have questions, or are curious, or perhaps even a bit combative. We do have a discussion group that was created a few months back, and though it hasn't been heavily used it would be a good location to continue the discussion, should anyone care to do so. By the way, Talitha will be running the show there, not I.
